🌿 Yoga

Experience the tranquility of yin, nidra, and restorative yoga as pathways to release tension, quiet the mind, and restore balance within. My sessions are crafted to guide you through a journey of self-discovery, fostering a profound connection between your physical body and the inner landscape of emotions.

Yin

Yin yoga, rooted in ancient Chinese philosophy and Taoist practices, is a slow-paced and meditative practice focusing on deep stretches and prolonged holds of postures. It is suitable for all fitness levels and provides a gentle, accessible approach to yoga. Yin yoga targets connective tissues and fascia in the body, enhancing flexibility and joint mobility. This practice encourages a balanced mind-body connection and a deep sense of relaxation, making it especially beneficial for individuals seeking stress reduction and increased flexibility.

Restorative

Restorative yoga, derived from Iyengar yoga, is a gentle practice focused on deep relaxation and rejuvenation. Its primary components involve supported poses using props, held for extended periods to encourage deep relaxation. This practice is suitable for all fitness levels, making it accessible to a broad audience. Restorative yoga is particularly beneficial for individuals seeking stress reduction, emotional balance, and relief from physical discomfort. It offers a tranquil space for self-care, allowing practitioners to unwind and find inner peace in our fast-paced world.

Nidra

Yoga Nidra, an ancient yogic practice, originates from the teachings of Swami Satyananda Saraswati. Its core component is a guided meditation that leads to profound relaxation and inner exploration. Suitable for individuals of all fitness levels, Yoga Nidra is accessible and requires no physical postures. This practice is particularly beneficial for those seeking stress reduction, anxiety relief, improved sleep quality, and increased self-awareness. It balances the nervous system, fostering overall well-being and mental tranquility, making it a valuable tool for modern individuals facing the challenges of daily life.

Meet your Teacher

In the About Lorain section on this website you will read more about my story. But why am I teaching Yin-style yoga? Well, when a burnout forced me to a stop, I slowly realised that I simply had been too Yang for too long. Starting with Yin yoga was one of few ways for me to subtly but significantly start to (re)connect with my body again. This led me to do a teacher training for myself. But after I taught my first class I also fell in love with teaching, so now I teach Yin yoga too.

Groups

Private: I offer private yoga classes on location. A one-time yoga class can be a nice experience during a bridal party, birthday celebration, retreat, workshop, fundraising event, or even a family gathering. It provides participants with the opportunity to experience the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefits of Yin-style yoga while enjoying it in a social or event-based context.

Corporate: I offer yoga classes at work for teams but also 1-on-1’s. Boost your team’s well-being and productivity with corporate yoga classes. Examples include one-time or regular yoga classes for team-building, stress relief, or wellness programs.

Classes will be designed to suit your group, including level of experience. They can also be themed such as focused on a health benefit (physical, mental, emotional and/or spiritual), one of the natural elements (fire, water, air, earth), or one of the yearly seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter). Please email or call me so we can discuss the possibilities including price.
